The challenges of our time are varied:
Much surface area was used for the construction of apartments in the past, numerous buildings seem to be badly integrated within the uniqueness and identity of typical landscapes, the looming end of fossile fuels requires new ideas and concepts, the demographic development poses particular challenges to the way existing buildings are used - all these issues are wholly interlinked and constitute a motivation to find future-oriented solutions in architecture.
